Eight southern news organizations win national SPJ SDX awards

The Society of Professional Journalists has announced the recipients of the 2018 Sigma Delta Chi Awards for excellence in journalism. Judges chose the winners from entries in categories covering print, radio, television and online. The top SPJ Region 3 winners are The Palm Beach Post that will be walking away with four national SDX Awards and the Alabama Media Group will hold two SDX Awards for 2018. Other winners are listed below.

The awards recognize outstanding work published or broadcast in 2018. The Region 3 recipients include the following:
